It has happened as predicted, my lovely ds1 is nearly 13 and I can see him changing before my eyes into Kevin the Teenager. I really need to arm myself with some strategies for keeping my cool with him, understanding the pressures he's facing etc etc, and most importantly how to not let his gloom takeover the whole household. DH finds it incredibly difficult to adopt the "this too shall pass" approach and gets super wound up really quickly and DS2 is 11 and tends to join in with whatever row is going on!

what is your book reccommendation?

"Teenagers!" By Rob Parsons is a great, easy read which explains how and why teenagers are hard-wired to behave the way they do. "How to talk so teens will listen and listen so teens will talk" by Faber and Mazlish is also excellent for keeping the lines of communication open.
