if you go onto the Student Finance Website (search under Google) they have a calculator and you can enter earnings etc, answer all questions and it will come up with the amount that they will be prepared to Loan. It is quite easy and straight forward. I hope this helps.

Student loan - pay back
Grant and bursary - don't pay back

If you are entitled to a grant it means that your loan is slightly less. All the information should be here for English students. www.studentfinance.direct.gov.uk/portal/page?_pageid=153,4680119&_dad=portal&_schema=PORTAL
