Party Dress Help please

Hi,
I usually just lurk in teenagers, but I very nearly have one
dd1 is 13 in a few weeks and we are desperately looking for a new dress for her party, it really could do with being on line shopping as both dd have sporting activities that keeps us very busy over Friday nights and weekends, and I work full time but she is at that inbetweeny stage!

She doesn't really like the kids stuff at next, very, matalan etc and easily gets into a size six in adult stuff but so we ordered a dress from Misguided and one from asos, but it's too long as it is designed for an adult, where do you get your teen girls party gear from (she about 5 foot)

There seems to be a real gap in the market for girls her age or am I looking in the wrong palces?

No help to you - but, IME, there's a real 'hole' for this age group. Children's clothes claim to go up to about 13, but don't really aim anything at over 10 or 11s, then the next stuff is so often 'nightclub wear'.
I think H&M were about the best, but it was a difficult search at that age.

It's really hard to find something which isn't too "old" shall we say but trendy enough for them to actually wear! And at the other end it's all girly girly frills which she wouldn't be seen dead in
anyway will keep looking.

Miss Selfridge do the size, but price and length are adult.

9-12 clothes are awful

Have you tried Tammy Girl. It's part of BHS now. They are great for this age group and very reasonable. Also H&M and New Look have ranges for young teenagers.

Miss Selfridge petite do a petite range! For 5ft 3 and under.

Just looking at H&M now but I remember shopping at Tammy Girl when I was younger, never knew it still existed

My 14 YO loves Forever 21, but for on-line ordering you could try Debenhams, John Lewis or Boden. However I have no luck with on-line ordering for the DDs. They like to try on and ponder first, preferably with their friends, then they take me along with my credit card a few days later.

I feel your pain! We have had some success with New Look (both adult size 6 and generation 915 ranges), h&m, Debenhams, Internationale and independent 'fashion' clothes shops.

Recently needed to buy a dress for teenage dd, and I would say it is better to go and try them on if you possibly can. DD had to try on about a dozen before we found one that fitted and she liked. She is a bit older than your dd, but at your dd's age she liked h and m, m and co, New Look, River Island. They all have teen clothes. Happy hunting!

thank you all have found one at boohoo which we have ordered and if it doesn't fit i think we have no option but to go and try on it's just finding time in with her other activities but if she wants one then thats what will have to happen.

Just for future reference, Zara sometimes has nice stuff and goes up to 13-14

We've had good dresses from Primark both for dd1 (19 curvy size 14]) and dd2 (13 , terrible to dress as she's maybe a size 8 with big boobs -clearly she isn't wanting to maximise her"assets" at the moment-she has a couple if wrap dresses that were just £5 in the sale.
