and does it work? LOL

Having interesting times with the youngest- the worlds worst procrastinator at times, who thinks (because TBH a lot of the time she is) that she is as grown up as the almost 17yr old and 19yr old, and really should be left to set her own bedtime. Which would work if she'd actually get enough sleep....

She gets up at 6.15 too.

What do you think is reasonable? the mumsnet jury is needed!

If you come up with an answer please let me know. One of mine thinks that it is okay to go to bed at midnight and get up at 6.30 for school.

9 to 9.30. Lights out at ten. She gets up at 6.30 too.

DS is 13 and gets up around 6.15 in the week, but often has a long lie - in on Saturdays, may not surface until 10 or so, and if he is not going anywhere does not get dressed all day!

He usually decides when to go to bed himself, and is usually in bed for 9ish and book down half an hour or so later. Scout night is later as he is not in until half 9, and Friday night is youth group. He wil occasionally take himself off much earlier if he is very tired, we would police bedtime more if he wasn't getting himself up without any trouble during the week.

I think lights out by 10 at the latest on a school night is just about ok, baring in mind 8.5-9.5 hours sleep a night is recommended for that age group.

11-30-12pm to be woken just before 7 am

Takes herself to bed early every so often when it catches up on her.

Night owl like me. Never ever in bed before 8 even as a toddler.

I'll start to suggest bed about 9:30pm on school nights... He's usually in it by 10-10:30pm. Up at 7am, and I don't usually have to wake him, which makes me feel he's getting enough sleep.
He stays up 'til whatever time he likes at the weekend, unless he starts being a nuisance (very rare), in which case I'll send him to bed!
