I've just waved off ds1 17, two of his mates and dh who is driving them there. You'd think they were going for a week what with the amount of stuff they've loaded into the car. Two other friends took the train earlier and have already managed to lose a 5 litre bottle of water Hmm. I hope they have a really great time but I'm nervous to be honest. Please don't rain too much.

Ds1 and 4 friends went to the Isle of Wight festival....He's 18 but had never even been to concert alone before, and we live in Ireland so he had to fly to London, and ccatch trains, and all sorts. And then the rain, and seeing it onb the news. BUT he came home safe and sound. It was like experiencing his first day of school, but with the knowledge that there was actual danger. Who knew that parenting would continue to be so hard after they were officially adult!

Zaphod wow! were you a nervous wreck? I have visions of them getting lost in the dark and wondering around aimlessly all night, I have sent 4 torches and spare batteries just in case. Grin.

Well the mates lost a sleeping bag as well as the water on the train Hmm

One of the quiet joys of being a Mother of know-it-all-teens is the quiet sense of satisfaction[get in there] when you are proved to be right. After ds1's bahaviour last week I told him he wasn't taking alcohol not just because he was a twit previously but also the site wouldn't let a minor on with booze. After the quiet hissy fit when his mates hoiked on the booze he glared at me as I waved them off.

Imagine my glee when dh texted to say the mates left all of their booze in the boot when they spotted the police vans on arrival at the entrance and lost their nerve about bluffing{ what bluff, they're 17].DH currently driving back with booze rolling around boot.
