Ibiza/18-30s holidays

Any experience, anyone? DS and a couple of his mates fancy a week in Ibiza straight after school finishes.

has anyone any experience of decent (but cheap) hotels?

I'm thinking maybe 18-30 as even though they're a little short of their 18th birthdays, apparently if a parent signs the paperwork, they will be accepted?

Thanks in advance

Personally. having seen the 100's of programmes on 18-30 holidays and having been to Ibiza as a teenager myself, I wouldn't let my DD go in a million years! Grin

However, I have a precious little girl of 17, not a son, so the feelings may be different!

I would have though, a cheap package deal where it suggests fun for young adults would work better. I wouldn't mind her doing that, I suppose. That way they can pick and chose what they do. 18-30's seem to have a reputation of dragging you in to all kinds of things, that maybe they'd not want to do. Given that they are likely to be the youngest ones of the bunch!

This is true. I went to Ibiza back in the Eighties and it wasn't really crazy then, but a lot of fun.

Will look at other package options, thanks.

My only experience is via a friend who did this in the 1980s. She had her own room, most were shared and you didn't get to chose who with.

Games included things like identifying the person you slept with by blindflding the girls and getting them to feel inside the boys shorts.

She was advised to wear a one piece costume for the beach BBQ. She found out why. They were dong a skipping in the ring in the water type thing when the DJ anounced a prize for bikini bottoms brought by a boy, best prize for the first one. I believe the girls were half drowned by having their pants ripped off.

The bikini bottoms were then put in a pile on the beach and the girls had to collect their own theirselves.

And as Mumblechum said - thingbs were not as bad then.

Oh, good grief.

18-30 holiday???? I went on one of those when I was 20. I was the youngest.

You do realise it's going to be alcohol, sex, alcohol, sex and some more alcohol????

Of course.

Actually he's normally pretty sensible, as is the friend he's going with. My only real concern is that after two or three days of hedonism they'll be bored and want to go off hiking

I think I would be wary of 18-30 holidays for sensible almost 18 year olds and leave that for when you have no influence over their choice Smile.

DD2 went to Malia last year after A levels with a group of girlfriends. They booked a package through First Choice that was very cheap. They all seemed sensible girls but one was so badly behaved that the friendship didn't survive the trip.

Oh dear!

Anyway, after spending all afternoon on the internet, I've booked a hotel for 5 nights, and booked the flights separately, after sashs experience. I think the Reps try to get them to go on loads of excursiions etc which is going to whack the price up, and he's going to have a pretty small budget.
