Am trying to find small but effective sanitary towels suitable for an 11 year old, has anyone found a good brand? All seem far too bulky/wide for her. I'd really appreciate some advice!

Lillets do teen sized pads - both normal and night ones.
Big supermarkets sell them.

Thanks!!!

Oh the joys!

Good luck!

However, I do agree with the lillets :)

Asda do teen stuff.

Have you thought of getting her tampons to try when she wants to?
Many young girls use them and find things a lot easier.
It is really a matter of proper instruction and getting used to the idea.
What do other Mumsnetters think?

lillets teen ones are in superdrug too -my local asda doesn't sell them

I've had a discussion with my DD about tampons and will hold off for a couple of reasons

  1. she isn't regualr yet so think it's better for her to get to know her cycle before using tampons and
  2. she is pretty grossed out by the thought

think I had been having periods for about a year when I started using tampons and would expect DD to be about the same

Personally I think 11 is too young for tampons.

My dd is nearly 15 and I haven't mentioned them yet. Im waiting for her to suggest the idea first.

My DD is 14 in a few weeks...and still no sign of a period.

Bless her...she has had her little pouch of sanitary wear ready for over a year
