We have a 14 DS & we along with another family the same age are going to Cyprus for a fortnight. Would you allow them to wonder off or do you think they should stay with us through the holidays?

Wander off with an agreed time to be back - say 11pm?

mumblechum1 · 19/04/2012 11:28

Definitely wander off. As long as they have their mobiles they'll be fine.

neither of them normally take their mobiles, as they dont communicate when they have them BBM and all that lol. Not sure what to do

Yes I think Protaras is fairly safe. It's a lively but family resort, quite cheesy but my teens loved it.
I've just come back from a holiday in Lanzarote with teens. They are 14 and 16 and we were in AI hotel. My rule is that they can go off without us as long as they
1.Stay together at all times
2. Keep in touch at regular intervals either in person or by text
3. Eat with us

At night they stayed on the complex and had to be back by 11.30pm.
This was quite an adventure for them as we live in a small village and they never go anywhere much on their own.
