Does anyone have any ideas for a 16th birthday present?

I did think of getting something he can 'keep' but think he would prefer a new laptop.

Just wondered what other people had bought.

What does he want? Have him write up a wish list and take it from there.

My ds would have a list going - I wouldn't want to pre-empt that.

My DS will be 16 soon.

Don't really have any ideas of what you could get as big present as that will need to be pretty specific to what he would actually really like, but some of my son's friends who have already had their 16th birthday got things like a moped, laptop, money, travel tickets.

Have you seen a book called Dear Me A Letter to My Sixteen-Year-Old Self? It's lovely and something that could be kept.

Thanks so much for that sponkle I have just ordered the book you suggested it looks perfect as a keepsake!

DS is mad about sports cars so had a ferrari driving experience for his 16th. You can buy a presentation pack as a keepsake and could also have a dvd and photo of the experience. He still talks about it now and says it is the best present he has ever had. I didn't even know you could drive under 17, but they have them nationwide. We booked through this website www.racing-school.co.uk/driving/junior-ferrari-experience.asp - it was a great afternoon for the whole family. DD wants the lamborghini experience for her birthday !

A proper watch.

That's what mine got the other month, and both he and his mates were impressed with that. He has all the computer stuff he wants/needs - but a good quality pair of earphones is a good present too.
