Fidgeting

Do you teenagers fidget. DT1 is always tapping on tables, desks, picking up things (just like a toddler), clicking pens etc. Is this something I should be worried about or is it normal teenage behaviour?

I don't have teenagers yet, but my 8yo does this, as does my 38yo dh. Drives me batshit but apparently it helps them concentrate. Tbh though I severly doubt they even know they're doing it.

DS1 does it and it irritates the pants off me. Why does he feel the need to stand on a chair and hang off the ceiling? Or to pick up something on the dining table and faff with it?
