Help re wrecking rooms

Some of you may remember my post a while back about the slow progress that we are making with doing up our house, still left to do are the boys rooms, the small bathroom all on the same floor, and then lastly the landings which are seriously tipping me over the edge. Anyway moving on - the boys have plaster wood walls and they are paper thin - and they have had few tantrums - slamming doors which have made a massive hole inbetween their rooms.

There is a few more holes in their walls from throwing things, and now their is one outside their wall on the landing - DH has gone crazy - too right too.

I know the walls are paper thin - but doesnt make it right

DH will never ever want to do anything to their rooms now to make it look nice which affects me coz it really gets me down too

Soooo angry

Advice please xx

"DH will never ever want to do anything to their rooms now"

do they know this? I'd be saying to them that if they don't stop damaging their rooms then they will not be getting done up. And I'd shut their bedroom doors like I do when mine leave theirs in a tip.

Never mind their rooms, I would be addressing their bad behaviour!! How old are they?

twincrazy · 06/02/2012 15:26

They are 14 in July ILoveTiffey

I have spoken to them about this, how would you address this?

That's old enough to pay for polyfilla etc and fix the holes themselves.

seeker · 06/02/2012 15:30

14? And decor rating thwt needs doing they can do. And pay for it themselves too!

GypsyMoth · 06/02/2012 15:31

No pocket money.... Repairs cost money. No phone top ups etc
Why does it get to this point?

Remove all belongings except bare essentials so good, positive behaviour will earn everything back bit by bit.

IMO you need to get tough to nip it in the bud now.
