Hi - does anyone out there have any experience / advice that they can share?
DS2 is 17. Bright but won't work v hard at 6th form college and wants to get a job instead (another story). Also what we thought until last week were the usual teenage issues of being rude, explosive......
We have just discovered that he owes friends money and is going into betting shops to use the gambling machines.
I don't know how much he owes and he insists that this isn't something he needs us to be involved in - "he can sort it out himself" - I don't think he can but if he won't let us help / won't even tell us the whole story, let alone admit there is a problem, I am at my wits end as to what to do.
We found this out from one of his friends - and now he will hardly speak to us - I assume he is embarrassed that we have found out.
We are trying to make home life go on as normal rather than get angry - but he is in his room / out most of the time - I am despairing.
