Mega pissed with boys evening in

My twin boys are just over 13 Ive let them have a few evening in just because simply there isnt anywhere for them to go in the evening.

Anyway one of the twins messaged a few people on facebook and got replies to say yes or no they couldnt come

I went out in the rain to get some pizzas and I was told about 5 that in a space of 30minutes they all sent him a message to say they couldnt come for one reason or another

Both boys are popular and I cant understand it, I took it upon myself to text a couple of the mums who clearly didnt know or acted ignorant anything about it and also said they couldnt get there or back

Im really upset and gone to alot of trouble Ive had a long day with my toddler and I just feel like this is really disrespectful

Well it does sound odd.

V annoying for you, but from my experience of boys (and girls) this age not that unusual and I wouldn't take it personally. Chances are they forgot to tell their parents, hadn't sorted lifts etc. I think it's difficult when they make the transition from parent organised play dates to just coming round when they've arranged it themselves. I think I've probably adapted the level of effort I put in as plans do seem to change and they start to be a bit more self sufficient. ( you sound much nicer than me though )

I don't know where you live, but where I am it's vile out - cold, windy and raining. They could all well have decided to stay put for the night, or maybe their parents have decided to stay put and refused lifts etc. No reflection on your dses but just that everyone's knackered after Christmas and fancies a night in with their slippers on.

They probably hadn't organised lifts or asked their parents. DD3 is 19 and her and her friends are always changing plans. She sorts it all out herself of course anther age.

Have you checked what was asked and how it was answered?

Maybe they said 'do you want to come' and got 'yes' before the invitees had made any arrangements about lifts nor asked permission.

Yes it takes some getting used to when they are old enough to make their own arrangements.
Very often the invitation is vague and the friend says yes before asking his parents.
Then forgets all about it.

mmmmm i suppose its a learning curve, anyway now Im even more upset...lol because they where invited 4 weeks ago to go a friends for NY Eve tomorrow and he has been pissing them about for 2 days saying it might be cxd - yesterday it was on - tonight it is cancelled.

Surely thats not on?
