DD is 13. Just got back from town with her three little brothers (she didn't want to come with us) and she'd tidied the kitchen brilliantly. The boys went ahead as I had to get a couple of things in the local shop for dinner.
By the time I got home, five minutes after them, she was sitting on the kitchen floor in full meltdown. The boys said she let rip at them as soon as they came back. They insist they did hang up their coats etc but she was upset at the very sight of them returning to make the place look untidy. She flew at them violently then stormed up to her room shrieking like a complete maniac.
I can't imagine how it got to be so charged within five minutes. It must be to do with the fact she'd tidied so beautifully and felt they were somehow spoiling it (though they haven't made any mess at all).
Honestly she makes noises as if someone's trying to kill her. It's SOOO stressful and traumatic for everyone. She's upstairs crying now and I don't want to go up there. Is it OK for me to stay the fuck out of her way or should I go up and try to talk to her?
