but am failing ds (14) dismally...he's unhappy, I think (unless playing x box at his dad's, or arguing the toss about just-about-anything with me) and pretty unbearable atm

Yep, was sent it and 'how to talk to kids...' by a good friend. Both have been helpful in principle, ca't say I always manage to follow the theories, but things definatly have improved.
In fact I actually bought one of their others 'siblings without rivalry' and that one is worth it's weight in gold! Definate improvement in how I manage their battles, and as a result.... Less battles! In fact the little ones (3&6) play together really nicely, a lot of the time!! (now franticly looking for some wood to touch)....

have ordered it off Amazon today

am hoping for a sunnier 2012
