Am I being a party popper?

2 dds (15 +13) want to go to ny party at friends house BUT why this friend. dd1 bunked off with her once and got sent home on last day of summer term for drinking cider this girl had bought in. Can I trust dds not to drink more than 1 or 2? Think we have reached a compromise and will pick dds up at 12.30. Would love dds not to go really but does seem a bit harsh.

It's really scary when you realise that your babies are becoming grown-up (except that you know they're not!!) You don't want them to do the big, grown-up stuff.

Will there be any adults in the house to supervise? How well do you know this girl and family? Is your dd OK with the 12.30 pick-up?

Basically, I would say to her that you are trusting her to behave herself and, if she doesn't, then future social engagements may well be a big no-no.

i would say let the 15 year old go - knowing she will prolly come home pissed - its what they do. but i would under no circumstances let a 13 year old go. no way

agree,let the 15 yr old go ,13 is a bit young for an unsupervised party.

My dd just 14 hasn't been to one yet.

Would they be together at the party,would the 15 yr old be going with her own friends?

looks like new years eve party is off, thank god! thanks for all the comments though. They are going to their regular 6 - 9 under 16 disco on Friday instead. Thanks for words of wisedom Theprisoner - I dont know the girls family at all and I only know negative things about the girl. Custardo - I loved the idea of dd1 comin home prollied LOL! Well thats the girls protected this time.
