she has always been slight and small but she has suddenly shot up a bit (not much but a bit)and is looking very twiggy.

She eats fairly well, nice and healthy, good variety, but doesn't much like bread or potatoes so substitutes these for other vegetables. packed lunches for school are usually crackers or pitta with cheese or ham, a museli type bar and fruit. Dinners are 'normal' family meals.

She does ballet (twice a week) and both teachers have taken her aside to ask her if she is eating properly (bless them) and a teacher in school has done the same.

So calm me down and tel me what to do please.

She is currently eating a post ballet doughnut Confused

does she drink milk or milk shakes? I would encourage milk style drinks of any type as she will gain nutrients from them and add in tinned sardines or mackeral on toast if she like these - it is calcium she needs for her bones still at 15 and if you can get the milk or fish into her somehow this will help her later in life Smile

I don't like milk so my mum gave it to me with coffee essence in in the form of camp coffee to get the calcium into me. I was 5f8 and 7 and a half stone yet eat when I was hungry and never worried, thought nothing of it in a teenage way

DD is 5ft 3 and a size 6-8 - she is also 8 and a half stone - she looks very slender but in reality she is very healthy

My 15 year old dd is also 5'3" and size 4-6, but she looks 'petite' rather than skinny, and no one has ever asked us if she is not eating. She has a bust, hips and waist and is very active and fit. Hope that reassures you.
