Shaving

Ds is 13 & looks like he's going to need to start shaving soon....a bit of a furry upper lip has developed. Do I get him razors & foam & hope he doesn't cut himself or a cheap battery razor? The joys of being a lone parent!

I bought my ds a nivea battery shaver. It comes in a bag with a few products and does the job. It was his favourite birthday present!

There was a thread on teenage shaving a few days ago which had some very useful suggestions.

I would definitely recomend an electric shaver with some sort of gel. There are good ones that can be used in the shower - even beter.

Young teenage lads just dont have stiff enough bristles to do proper wet shaves and they dont need to shave every day either. Razor rash and cuts are much reduced with electric shaver and gel in the shower too.

Thanks.....I've told him I think he needs to start shaving, no sooner had I said it and he'd reserved a battery one on-line at argos...we're heading out soon!

Tis a bit of a milestone, imo! I remember dh teaching ds a couple of years ago. He looked so much cleaner when he started shaving, the bumfluff is not a good look!

I agree....the bumfluff made him look like he had a grubby face. He's now "clean shaven", even had to buy him aftershave.

Just could no resist adding this - your lucky its facial for boys.... my dd14 on holiday commented that my bikini line was showing to which i went red faced but then she replied - get with it mum, all us 14 year old girls shave the lot off and proceeded to give me a lecture on how its done........ lol
