Why does it seem that your darlling son all of a sudden rockets upwards and looks like stick man and eats like a horse in the process. Could us middle age, slightly overweight mums have their secrets please as to why they eat and eat and eat and just stay like beanpoles!! Do they have secrets we don't know about!!

this is DP down to the ground. 6ft 4, regularly had third helpings of dinner, plus pudding, does minimal exercise... and has a completely flat belly. absolute bugger. i only have to glance at a chocolate cake and i can feel my waistband tightening!

I have one of those as well. He was 5'10" at aged 12 and is now 6'2" at 15. He is a bottomless pit for food. I have warned him to enjoy it while it lasts as he won't have this metabolism forever Grin.

DS2 unfortunately has a different build and even with a smaller appetite has a tendancy to put on weight.

Mine has just gone up again!! I've just given up - I have to stand on a chair now if I have any chance of measuring his height - he thinks it is hilarious!!

I have a lanky teen too - almost 16 and just hitting 6' 3" - 35" inside leg but only a 30" waist! Try buying trousers for that. Is always hungry too.

Youngest is almost 14 and its just starting with him - has grown about 4" in past 4 months and you can almost hear his bones creaking and growing.

Soon I will be the shortest in the household :(
