Teenage Crushes

It seems my dd has developed her first teenage crush, aged 14 Grin Unfortunately for me, it is the endlessly annoying Justin Bieber, but nevertheless, I'm having an awwwww bless sniff moment about my baby growing up.

It got me thinking back to when I was a teen and was madly in love with Simon Le Bon from Duran Duran, oh my was I smitten! I was immensely jealous when some girl was chosen to be rescued from school by him on a white horse on Jim'll Fix It, the bitch, and would gaze at his posters on my bedroom wall, wishing I could only meet him and we would fall in love Grin Then there was the boy at school, two years older and soooooo mature and grown up, he was GORGEOUS! I have tried to find him on facebook since, but there are tons of guys with his name. Ah well, he might be a wrinkly old munter by now, wouldn't want to spoil the fantasy Grin

Nowadays it's Josh Homme, singer of rock band Queens of the Stone Age, although it's a much more lusty sort of crush than I had in my teens, the things I could do to that man YUMMY! Blush

So anyway, young Mr Bieber, you better look after my baby and don't break her heart you little shite or I'll hunt you down, so help me I will! Grin

I think my first crush was Adam Ant!

At least you got to 14 with your daughter. At 11 my DD is obsessed with Daniel Radcliffe. Her friend who she has known since they were 4 is a 'work in progress' (her words, not mine!)

lol, well she is developmentally delayed, I was probably 11-12 myself, Adam Ant was certainly on the list, he was lurvely Grin

I was about 10/11 when I had my crush on Adam Ant, when I was about 13/14 someone introduced me to John Taylor from Duran Duran! Not literally of course, but we lusted after him together!

Not sure who my daughter likes, I think one of the lads from Glee!

Now I like Chris Packham! When Marti Pellow had all his long hair cut off I virutally drooled at the TV when I saw him!

My DD 13 has been utterly in love with Nick Jonas for the last 2 years. She doesn't want to marry him apparently as it is much more fun day dreaming about marrying him IFSWYM.

Th epositive outcomes from this is that we went to see him in Les Miserable. She became totally obsessed with that as well and has now been reading the book on her ipod kindle. She has also done an excellent project on Diabetes for science becasue NJ has diabetes

My first crush was Donny Osmond (shows my age) and Midge Ure when he was in a group called Slik. Then went onto James Hunt and Barry Shene and Starsky and Hutch

Mine was Agnetha from ABBA Blush

I think my 12yo DS is starting to develop a crush on Dani Harmer, the actress who played Tracy Beaker. He's certainly very keen on making sure he sees any new episodes of Dani's House and often looks a bit furtive and guilty if I talk to him when she's on-screen Grin

Ooh, I'd forgotten how lovely Adam Ant was! But it was more Andy Taylor for me than John, he had such a cheeky smile!

DS1's GF was round on Saturday, she's 15, had the whole 'team Edward or team Jacob' convo - DS didn't know what we were on about - she's promised to show him!!

DD is 9.10 and adores Freddie Mercury. She refuses to accept that he is no longer alive and spends quite a lot of time on youtube searching out pictures of him.
She's also got real life crushes on boys in her class.
