My daughter goes to a catholic girls school - we are not catholic and she does find the religion aspect overwhelming.

She is feeling unhappy at school generally and part of a large fried group who seem to all go in phases and go on and off each other - one week she is the centre of attention the next week she feels invisible. i am not sure if this is a phase, she is 13 and is this the start of female teenage hormonal angst, wanting to be liked, but quickly falling into moods. Or if i should seriously start looking at new schools. Any thoughts anyone??

Sounds like completely normal behaviour for friendship groups of girls. Bear in mind that, if your DD moves schools, she'll have to find a new friendship group and the same sort of thing will probably then happen all over again. I'd encourage her to stick it out, if she's learning she can always go to a different establishment for 6th form/yrs 12-13.
