my dd (nearly 13) wanted either a new phone for xmas or clothes and money. She opted for the clothes and money plus, we got her a quite a few little extras including a pair of Ugg boots (DH's idea).

On xmas day however, half hour after opening all her presents she wrote on fb "sitting in lounge with nothing to do as all my presents are SH%T" because she was expecting a phone as well as everything else.

Apart from being abit offended, i was really upset as I get paid weekly and really struggled this xmas to get everything.

I feel like deleting her fb but for now, its just deactivated. What would you do?

my ds has just popped his head round door and had a rant/said a few names because i laid down law to him.second ignore it -teenagers are horrible.

if its any consolation op my ds picked his own main pressie - (very exp) we were v nervy it wouldn't arrive for big day.
it arrived in time but is sat here now still in box on floor of lounge - he hasn't even looked at it.and that was what he picked himself.

I'd be pretty unavailable for any favours for a while....

I'd probably ignore it, tbh. They do that. I'm friends with DD1 on fb and they all bandy about vague insults about their parents. Sometimes DD will say something, or more irritatingly, click on one of those "likes" that say "don't you hate it when your mom..." and it's something I never do! But I don't mention it and I take it with a pinch of salt.

The thing is, I bet you slagged off your parents to friends now and then when you were a teen - I know I did. The difference was, we did it verbally so no one knew. Now they put it on fb for the world to see . But the original intention is no different.

However, I might not scrimp and save for her so much next time! DD1 would probably quietly find herself with less next time!
