What 's the likely outcome?

I'm really upset with dd. She is 18, struggling with A levels, and on the verge of giving up if she can find a job before Christmas. Now, she has done something really really stupid and I'm just wondering what the likely outcome is. A couple of weeks ago her 'best friend' borrowed dd's driving licence and used it fraudulently to try and get into a club. The licence was confiscated. Dd has since applied for, and received, a new licence (she didn't tell us) and she hoped that was the end of the matter. But of course, she has now had a letter from the police saying the matter has been referred to the 'relevant authorities'. I haven't a clue what might happen next - might she have to go to court? Get a fine? Could her driving licence be cancelled? Please advise me if you can - I really don't want to have to discuss this with dh.

Hells - sorry, I am no legal expert so can't offer any advice, I just wanted to say, wouldn't it be worth going down to the police station to talk to somebody about what the 'likely outcome' will be?

Your DD's not killed anyone, after all, she's just a teenager who's done something a bit silly, IMO. I'm sure they're just following procedure by having to follow this up and it won't come to anything. Much bigger things get dropped by the police because the cost of getting it to court isn't worth it!

I would pop in and speak to someone, they're only people in slightly daft uniforms, not god! Or just give the local station a ring....

TBH I would be more concerned about why you feel you can't speak to DH about it but that's none of my business....
