Staying out late on school night

My 16 yo ds wants to go into London (over an hour by train)to see a band on a Thursday night when he has school the next day. He's a good boy and not making a big fuss over my hesitation. DH wants to say no. i would like to say yes as a one-off. Any advice?

By 16 if it is an occasional thing I wouldn't mind. DD2(17) has been to gigs on a school night but so long as there aren't too many of them its ok (and as long as she gets up without complaint the next day as well!)

That's my feeling too. Now I just need to persuade DH.

I allowed one-offs like this and actually he was so tired the next day that he was put off doing it again.
