Tattoo - 13 years old....HELP!!!!

Please, please can someone help? I have been an absolute idiot and let my 13 year old have a tattoo. She nagged and nagged and eventually I agreed to one on her shoulder. I have lots and didn't realise it was actually illegal at this age. Now I can't sleep, eat and am making myself ill with worry about the consequences.

I know I should have considered this more, put my foot down etc...but the fact is I didn't and I have made such a horrible mistake.

My daughter loves her tattoo and it does look nice. I have looked at what the law says and it seems that the tattooist has broken the law but not actually myself or my daughter....he knew how old she was...and like I said I didn't know it shouldn't have been allowed.

Now I am worried sick about being reported to the police or social services and haven't eaten or slept for 2 days. Can someone please help me and try and put my mind at ease as I feel like I'm going crazy and can no longer think straight!

Is this for real ?
Stop worrying. No one is going to send you to jail.
But you have been an utter loon agreeing to this. I think you know that.

ARE YOU CRAZY!! 13!!

THAT SCHOOL WILL BE ON TO YOU. HER CLASS MATES WILL BE TALKING TO THEIR PARENTS RIGHT NOW ABOUT HER. WHERE IS THE TATTOO EXACTLY? IS IT NOTICEABLE COULD YOU GET HER TO HIDE IT IN P.E?

Mummamayhem · 26/12/2016 11:55

Well that was stupid of you.

aforestgrewandgrew · 26/12/2016 11:59

Jesus Christ talk about hysterical, OP!

She got a tattoo. It looks nice. Had you known it was illegal you wouldn't have done it, but it's done now.

It's the tattooist who has broken the law not you. You and your DD were fine with the tattoo idea before you knew it was illegal.

What is the problem exactly?

It's done now, move on, let her enjoy her tattoo. Tell her she needs to wait till 18 for any more.

ZOMBIE THREAD!

andpeggy29 · 26/12/2016 12:17

Nothing else to be said other than you're a twat

Verbena37 · 26/12/2016 12:25

I actually didn't know it was illegal also.....although I guess if I had considered the same, I would have checked if there was an age minimum.
I wouldn't have thought it was any different to body/ear piercing a child under 18.

However, like others have said, it's worrying that a tattooist is doing that knowingly.

OhTheRoses · 26/12/2016 12:34

Zombie thread but the handwringing is quite interesting. There hasn't yet been a prosecution on the UK yet for FGM. Misplaced priorities if SS were to get too high handed about a tattoo.

YesThisIsMe · 26/12/2016 12:44

What's interesting about this blast from the past is the changing MNHQ approach to troll hunting. If this thread happened today it would look like Swiss cheese.

northernmonkey1010 · 03/01/2017 22:34

I bet it's a dolphin! Or a Chinese symbol that means soup

5OBalesofHay · 03/01/2017 23:35

The worst issue is them clubbing together, buying a tattoo machine off the internet and tattooing each other in bedrooms. Speaking from experience. Fucking horrid and fuck
all you can do to stop them.

Ninaandtheneurones · 27/08/2019 21:14

AnnieBeansMum you sound like a proper snob. Who are you and why did you feel the need to voice your opinion and tell her she is a bad parent. All she came here for was advice not a lecture

fandabbyfannyflutters · 27/08/2019 22:17

@Ninaandtheneurones who are you to come along a bump a thread that hadn't been posted on for two and a half years to berate another person and call them a snob?
