Parent & Teen Contract

Has anyone setup a Parent, Teen Contract? We are thinking about it, dd 15 wont stick to rules set ie time to come in wk nights 8.30pm wkends 10.30pm chours to get allowance (keep room tidy) If we set this up then hopefuly it lets everyone know expectations and consequences of not sticking to the boundaries! We are being mean, too strict and unreasonable for being annoyed if dd is 15-20mins late "it's just her, she is never on time for anything" rude if you ask me!!! I need to chill about room you can see some of the floor!!!! So what's the problem!!! But then I'm to old to remember being 15!!! Any thoughts or advice on this would be helpful.

I don't think a contract would realy work. 8.30pm is quite early to expect a 15 year old to be in by if she is doing something specific. Fine if she is just habging around doing nothing. If she is only 20 minutes late I wouldn't get to annoyed, As for her room, That is very normal for a 15 year old. It is her room so I would occansionly remind her to tidy it and then leave it to her. I have 3 DD's now aged 23.20 and 18 and I've learnt not to go into thier rooms.
The 23 year old is now married and she (and her DH)keep thier flat tidy f tidy. The 20 year old is at uni and I know she is still untidy. Wehn she is home her room gets in a mess but then she'll have a big clear out, The 18 year old is still extremly untidy.

We have thought of her having her input try not to go on about the bedroom too much but we agreed she would get £40 per month to keep it tidy!!!! not happend yet!!!! As for being in at 8.30 weeknights she trains early four mornings a week (her choice) so has to get to bed at a reasonable time. Sounds like we should forget the contract and try something else!!!! Forgot to say dd came up with the £40 a month to keep her room tidy.
