Chromebook / laptop? KS3/4

[sethrogansaunt]

Any suggestions or advice for Chromebooks or laptops for kids (Y7 and Y9), please? Their school mainly uses Google classroom etc and they do Sparx for most HWs until KS4. Eldest has managed on my crap
laptop but they both need access at the same time now, and I need to invest for both. I’d rather spend a bit more and they last and aren’t crap (the aforementioned ‘my crap laptop’ I stinted on and it’s awful!)

We use Chromebooks at work and lend them out to students. (Adult learners, usually on English/Maths courses pre-entry to GCSE level). They are cheap portable and do what we need them to. However, I wouldn't want to be doing much more than a bit of word processing and using teaching websites. Anything more than that (drawing programs, gaming, etc) and you'd need a better laptop.
