My phone has been attacked by viruses.

I'm getting lots of scary messages about the damage it could cause to my phone.

I'm bewildered!

Any advice very welcome.

There's even warnings that the hackers are looking at me through the camera.

It's a scam I'm afraid. A web page designed to look like a virus and saying things like "your phone is infected with 147 viruses and you will lose all of your photos etc". Other variations include "I've got control of your camera and see what porn sites you access." Whilst there is an outside change of you having a virus (very outside chance), there's one way to know for sure. If you go onto your phones App Store and download a VPN such as Bitdefender (free version) and switch the vpn on, your IP address will be hidden and the scam message won't be able to target you and will disappear. If you genuinely have a virus, the messages won't disappear even with a VPN. I could almost put money on it being a scam though. I get them from time to time and just move on. Relax, the people who spread them rely on you panicking so that you click on the links on the scam page.

Do you have iPhone or android? Have you installed any apps recently? If so, uninstall any games or similar unnecessary apps. That will also help you get rid of these scammy advertisements

what type of phone is it?

I thought I had virus on my phone. But it was just a clever advertising scam to get me to buy something.
Download a free app and it will clear any spyware and malware you may have.
No need to panic at this early stage.

It's not a fancy posh phone.

Just a Motorola g06. Bought new six months ago.

Do you think if I take it back to Tesco Phoneshop, someone who knows what they're doing will be able to make it alright again?

These messages and adverts that keep popping up are damned annoying.

I'm not scared of the virus messages now that I know they're probably all scams trying to trick me into giving them money.

Yeah! Like I'm going to fall for that !!

Ah, now I know you've got a Motorola and not an iPhone, you have different options. See the link and also the image (when it appears)
