Hi, I need to get a new laptop and have always had MacBooks and just wondered if they really still are the gold standard for creative industries? I’ve been using a windows laptop for a client recently and really took to it, however I need all the above programs and also vector works etc and wondered if there was any sage advice any could offer! I really have no idea?

I also use both, and while windows hardware has improved greatly, I prefer the consistency of MacOS and the tighter integration with other Apple devices EG, Phone, Tablet and Apple TV etc.

In my experience Apple Laptops have a much longer life, usually 8-9 years with a battery swap around 6-7 years. I used to buy Mac Book Pros, but now have a Mac mini (with 2 X screens) and an MacBook Air which for me is a great combination.

I also have a (ancient) Dell PC, running an old windows only app, which I access via Remote Desktop, but rarely.

Vectorworks and MS Office is supported on MacOS, so unless there's a application that's windows only I would buy a Mac of some sort...

I ended up getting a MacBook Pro. Not sure I needed all the extra power but figured it won’t do any harm….
