I work across two large hospitals & I'm not allowed a phone that can take pictures on my person. I used to have a Nokia 105 as it has no camera at work & then swap the sim into my Moto smartphone on my days off. I've started to wear the menopause uniform at work which is a polo shirt & scrub trousers but now I don't have any pockets for my phone. I had my phone in a phone bag but I'm not allowed this due to health & safety. I bought a smart watch as I can attach this to my ID lanyard but I have to leave my phone in the changing room & the Bluetooth doesn't reach up to the wards.
My Gran took unwell suddenly and the GP phoned my office. My colleagues didn't try to find me as I work across the full site. I feel anxious that this could happen again or the school might need me urgently & I don't get the message. I worry about something happening when I'm in meetings & can't concentrate. There are no pagers available for me to have. I'm now trying to come back to the office if I have admin tasks but there isn't always a hot desk available.
What do other people do in this situation? Can anyone suggest a smart watch that works without bluetooth & is easy to switch the sim card? I kept snapping then when I switched between my Nokia & smartphone! I just need something that would alert me to a missed call or read a text as I can phone from the ward for an emergency.
