DH and I invested in a Garmin Vivoactive 5 each recently. What we like about it is that there's an online dashboard (Garmin Connect) that gives you masses of stats once you've registered your device.
You can then can pair this with Cronometer.com to link nutritional intake with exercise (each automatically updates the other). I've turned into a proper nerd checking all the charts and numbers, it's really motivational. 🤓 I much prefer an online dashboard to a phone app, which by comparison is like trying to peek through a keyhole.
There are various Garmin coaching plans you can follow, such as for running.
We also got some Garmin body analyser scales. They have mixed reviews on Amazon, but we find them really excellent and very accurate (we tested them vs calliper measurements etc for body fat). No home device is ever going to be as precise as a DEXA, but we reckon it's good for our purposes.
Another thing I like to do for motivation is screenshot various trends like heart rate, VO2 max, etc and feed them into Copilot for more detailed analysis. I find this great fun!
Until recently we were both using a XIAOMI Redmi 5, which is a budget option and worked pretty well, but only via an app (and synching with scales was a pain). We're glad we made the upgrade, but if you don't want to fork out for a Garmin the XIAOMI watches served us well for a few years.
Good luck and have fun!
