WFH in garden office - noise cancelling headphones recommendation

I need to be able to listen to work videos and participate in calls.
I want to block out neighbour's building extension work - cement mixer etc literally feet behind the walls of my garden office, and the radio.
When they are not doing this they do seem to be one of those families that are always finding things to do - leaf blow, tree stuff, general banging.

Are the really spendy ones worth the expense?

Bose QuietComfort - the ultras if you can stretch to them.

Alternatively Sony WH-1000MX4.

Both are robust and have really good quality noise cancelling.

You can go cheaper but usually the pairing/software gets glitchy.

Just remember, when you’re wearing noise cancelling headphones and you’re talking, you might just be talking really loud without realising! (or is it just my husband this applies to?)

I have Bose quiet comfort and they are amazing. We are living through an extension and with them on I can’t hear any of the banging, drilling, smashing, bashing… my only worry is that the builders will knock on the door for something and I won’t hear them!

I had a pair of Bose Quiet comfort, and whilst they were great for cancelling out the noise for you, the people on the other end of your Teams call can still hear the noise! So I had to switch to the Jabra ones below (I think same as previous poster?). They’re a bit Madonna/call centre but they’re really comfortable and cancel out background noise for the people on the other end of the call. www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B086LMG7B2?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

The Sony WH-1000MX4 are great. They cut out next door neighbour’s dog barking completely. They saved my sanity to be fair. They were expensive but so worth it. They’re Bluetooth and cordless, and I can pair my work tablet, tv, work phone and personal phone to them. Neighbour’s dog has gone now, but often use them for listening to music as well, in work, and out, hoovering cutting the grass, anything noisy. I can have silence, or listen to music of my choice. I did try loop earplugs but they were uncomfortable and didn’t cut the sound out enough. If I’m in team meetings where my camera doesn’t need to be on, or on a work phone call, if I have my headphones on, I can move around a bit if the mood takes me. I don’t have to be sat in front of the screen. I love them!

Thank you. My main priority is to cancel noise when I'm not listening to anything.
I don't have a lot of calls.
I've just got some Bose ones. I deserve to treat myself and not kill my neighbours

I use Sony ULT WEAR (Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones) for work and find them to be pretty good for noise cancelling.

I’ve got these and can highly recommend. They are very comfortable to wear for long periods.

Are these quite comfortable to wear?
