Evening šŸ‘‹

My child has asked for a 3D printer for Christmas, however I have no idea what one to get and so I’m wondering if anyone could share some recommendations. Budget around Ā£150 - needs to be compatible with an iPad.

Thanks in advance.

Bamboo mini. Easy to use and very robust.

Bambu A1 mini - easily the best for your budget. Move quick they have a Black Friday sale that will end soon.

Then esun pla filament from Amazon is reliable, inexpensive, usually tangle free and good print quality.

Yes, bambu a1 mini. You don’t need the AMS multi system, just buy him a few rolls of pla silk tri/quad filament from Amazon ( go by reviews) and some acrylic paint markers to add fine details or vary the colour.

be warned though, it’s addictive!

Oh, easy to use from the app. You download models straight from there and there is a wide range.

Thanks guys, sorry to be a pain, but does anyone have a link? When I type the model into Amazon it’s coming up with names like TINA - is that the one?

You need to buy the a1 mini direct from bambu, their customer service is great tbh and I love them. There are also plenty of Facebook groups for support and help/advice

Don’t get the AMS - which allows you to do multicolour, not needed.

There are loads of fun filaments that are multicoloured they can use. Though start with a plain pla of pla+ (esun is a good brand)

However if you are getting the AMS, buy it at the same time as the printer as it is far more expensive separately. If you don’t like / use / need it you can sell it on for more than the extra you paid for it.
