It’s for me, not a child. I really only need it for word processing and emails that can’t be sent on the phone for whatever reason. I have a MacBook that’s dying and can’t afford another one. Thank you!

I bought mine when I was a (mature) student with a good discount and it’s done really well to be fair. But now it can’t be updated any more and just moans at me all the time that the storage is full despite me deleting/putting everything in the cloud.

Maybe someone will be along with some advice for us soon!

If you only need it for word processing and emails I wouldn’t either bother with a laptop get a tablet and keyboard.

You can get a decent one for between £250-300, is that within budget?

I just got this to replace a Surface Pro for DD's school. She didn't like the screen coming off and it's only lasted 3 years because that seems to mean the touch screen doesn't work well, so I avoided those. This seems to do what she needs it to.

I popped into my local CEX store and got a refurb newish Surface Pro for much less than retail price. They do 5 year warranty now too. Have also bought refurb phones from them.

Also following. My ASUS purchased in 2013 was an absolute bargain considering how long it has lasted but it really is ready for retirement now. Hoping to spend around £200 mark, is it worth waiting until Black Friday or is that all a con?

The HP one I linked to above is only £208.
