Need to overhaul DCs laptops

My parents kindly bought both DCs laptops with 1 year of antivirus software which has long since expired. They need upgrading to windows 11, I need to install MS Office on both so they can do homework and they need antivirus software.

What order do I do this in? Which antivirus is best? And how do I get them both Office at a reasonable price?

Install the antivirus afterwards.

You can use Google Docs or Open Office for free to save paying for Microsoft Office.

Oh and have a read about Microsoft Defender for antivirus - you might already have it included with Windows 10/11. Otherwise there’s free antivirus software available like AVG.

1. 10 to 11 first if the laptop is above the minimum spec for it, which if they are not that old. Go into windows sertings, software update etc. and it will tell you if it is and show you how if it is.

1. Purchase Ofice 365 for home with educational pricing from the website, login and download on both.

1. Absolutely no need to purchase third party AV software anymore, just turn on MS Defender in security settings.

Just hetbMs Office for ease. Its cheap for students, just need a .ac.uk or school email address.
