smart watch

I have a birthday next week I'm looking for a smart watch not expensive just one that tracks my steps correctly any ideas would be greatly appreciated thanks

I have an old garmin. I choose it because the GPS is in the watch (so it doesn't use phone GPS), although it actually turned out to be a really good buy.

It tracks steps, and other activities although I use it primarily for steps and tracing walking routes. And the battery lasts for ages - 10 days or so - unless the GPS is on.

It shows sms messages, WhatsApp and who's calling too.

The newer ones have heart rate monitors which are inaccurate and suck battery life, so I'd try and avoid those, but I'd really recommend the garmin. I'm really pleased with it.
