Apparently everyone is switching over. Got sent the new router and thought I’d get it sorted today. Plugged in ok, now you have to plug your telephone direct in to router. Annoying but sorted.
Smart phones all connected with no issues. WiFi working fine.

It’s the Sky tv that I cannot fix. Sky q with one mini room thing. I get it set up and it’s working, come back and the connection has dropped. Various time length. BT said it’s fine their end and to phone sky but it was all working fine before.
Anyone done theirs already? I don’t know what could be wrong. Stupid sky has a stupid chatbot rather than a real person. Please help with suggestions if you’ve any ideas, losing the will here….

It would help if you broke this into components. Firstly, I think it's the phone that is switching to digital, not the broadband. BT want to switch off the analogue network, so are trying to move people to IP phones.

So, my questions for error checking would be:

  1. Does the broadband work?
  2. Does the phone work?
  3. Is the sky box connected to the broadband with a cable, or by WiFi?
  4. Does the WiFi work?
  5. Are other devices connecting to WiFi?
  6. Is the sky box connecting reliably?

That sort of thing.

I sympathise, BT switched us over to active voice and it’s been a downgrade to service . We don’t have Sky so unable to help with that part , but just as an aside , you can request a little gizmo from BT that you plug your phone into so you use the existing socket , they sent us one for free.

Downside of active voice so far , needing an extra socket than before for gizmo , answerphone and caller display no longer work and having to use the full dialing code for local numbers .

Hope you get sorted soon , we were switched to full fibre at the same time which also needed an extra plug/socket than before.
