-Oxo peeler. I refuse to use any of those flimsy, plasticy, blunt ones
-Electric can opener
-Home assist system which DH installed. I can turn lights on/off from my laptop or phone, open and close blinds, check outside cameras and the front door camera
-Tempest weather monitor
-Automatic garden watering system

All of them sound good. I’ve got a home assist system. I like it when I’m away because I turn things on like I’m home.

Have just ordered OXO peeler on your recommendation - cheers

i’m interested in which electric can opener you use because I had one a few years ago and it’s terrible! It uses four batteries every single time and honestly, I swear blind it only gives one or two uses before it begins to slow down - It groans slowly as though it’s on its last legs all the time.

What's a Masha? (Google comes up with "Masha and the Bear").

DahliaBlooming · 19/04/2025 21:22

Aeropress for coffee. Plus milk heater & frother.

Expanding garden hose.

Izzieloo · 19/04/2025 21:22

Ooh indeed a good peeler thanks

Mine is a Kenwood, CO600 and plugs into the wall, but discontinued now. I bought it from Sainsburys over 20yrs ago and its still going strong. I couldn't be bothered with a battery powered one!

I recently got a book gimble to hold books open on a table.

My mum had an electric tin opener. Anyway…
Probably the kettle. Is that tech, really?

❤️❤️❤️ my mum had one of these. Brings back fond memories. I used to love using it!

For anyone wondering, the oxo peeler I have is this one. They also make a Y shaped one, but I prefer this one.

I bought the y shape oxo peeler when I had to peel 5 thousand potatoes at Christmas. Worth every penny.

I have an expanding garden hose. They are great.
I’m just looking at the Aeropress. Might order one in the morning.

Ziplock bags! I’m 58 and I’m not sure how but I’ve only really discovered these in last year or two and they’re a game changer for keeping everything from bread to fruit nice and fresh. Added bonus that you can wash and reuse many many times.

Dueanamechange2025 · 20/04/2025 20:04

Definitely my Apple Watch feel lost now when I’m not wearing it.

Scribl · 20/04/2025 20:15

A Tassimo coffee machine with a reusable/refillable coffee pod.

I couldn't make myself invest in a coffee machine as the pods are so horrendously wasteful. My son bought me one along with the refillable pod (cheap from Amazon). Best present ever. I use it daily and feel really loved each time. 😅
