I’m visiting my elderly aunt tmrw. My elderly mum lives 300 miles away from her and they rarely see each other but talk on the phone regularly.
I would like to set up a video call between them while I’m there.
There is no internet in my auntie’s house.
I think that WhatsApp on my phone, through to my sister’s phone ( who will be helping my mum) should work ok but screen is very small.
I will have my IPad with me which has Facebook/Facetime.
Question….Can I use my iPad, in a house with no internet, to link with my sister’s phone?
Thank you!

Yes, my daughter hotspots to use my data when we’re out.

You can connect your iPad via WiFi to your phones WiFi hotspot (the same way you would connect it to your broadband hub), then your iPad will have internet in order to call from it on FaceTime (providing your iPad uses the same sim info as your phone)

Thanks for your help. We used WhatsApp in the end which was fine. Two sisters over 90 saw each other for the first time in 12 months. They have the same poetry book and read some to each other - 300 miles apart! Just lovely.
