Upgraded my iphone months ago. Factory reset my old one. Tried selling it music magpie who screw me over. Got it back. Tried selling it through cex who said bad battery life. Got it back.

put it up in marketplace. Someone comes and buys it. All good. 2 hours later I get a text to say that they need a passcode to access the phone. I’m wtf the phone doesn’t have a pin as it’s been factory reseted!

phone is back with me as I didn’t want problems and I refunded them the money but now I can’t access the phone cuz I have no clue what this number is.

has anyone managed to access an iPhone to factory reset it? I can ask apple for help (i bought it off them so they should have record of my purchase) but fear they’ll charge me which is not worth it and I can’t spend my life trying to guess the PIN code (it blocks every time I fail).

Did you do a reset or did you erase all contacts and settings?
If you just did a reset then the phone will still be on your account and you can reset it via find my phone and input a new pin.
Reset just takes it back to default settings, before you sell a phone you need to erase.

Have a look on find my phone on your new iPhone. If it’s still on there, which i5 should, just remove it and that will sort it out.

Tried this but it switches on rather than factory reset

Use iTunes to factory reset your iPhone. Put your old iPhone in recovery mode, and connect your iPhone with computer. Run iTunes, it will pop up a message to restore iPhone. Follow the prompt to restore your iPhone to factory settings.
If above method not working, you can contact Apple official support or MagFone iPhone Unlocker software to help you.
