Microsoft 365 subscription help

At the risk of sounding like my tech phobic mother, can anyone please advise on a MS 365 subscription please? I’ve received an email saying that it will auto renew soon at £84.99 for the year. Is there a cheaper option? A quick google suggests you can buy from Wowcher (?) for £49.99. Is that legit?!

I just need personal use, one device. I’m loathed to pay so much because I only use the laptop infrequently for some ad hoc self employed work which I need to keep totally separate to my day job. For the day job I have a 365 log in with my work email.

Thanks for any insight!

£84,99 looks like the best price via Microsoft, it’s for the Personal Office 365 option.

The Wowcher deal looks to be offered by a company called Software 4 All Ltd. There are no reviews on Trustpilot (or anywhere, that I could see), so I would be inclined to give it a wide berth.

Similarly, Wowcher also have some kind of alleged “lifetime access” license, offered by Zak Learning. They do have reviews on TrustPilot. I find on TrustPilot the best way to avoid any fake reviews is to look at what percentage of 1 star reviews a site has. Zak has 12% - which is high - and reading them gives some insight that they may not be trustworthy. The same goes for Wowcher.

I think in this context, if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Would soemthing free like OpenOffice be good enough for you? It has spreadsheets, document writing and presentations

Just login on your home computer Office Account using your work login details?

Download office, open an application and go to the Account Settings bit, put in your work email and corresponding password (might be different to your work PC login) and it should work.

I've done that with last 2 places I've worked.

Thank you so much I will look into all of these and see if I can figure out the best route. If I can switch accounts and keep everything separate@Tallyrand that would be fab. I’ll give it a whirl and see what happens.
