Hi All
Any tips for which is the best ?
Hubby and I are looking at some - don't neccessarily want the cheapest - good image quality and quite a wide area of coverage would be good
Also would be interested in upgrading our whole house security as well so any recommendations for a good company
Thanks

Hi @Becx1994 we have the Ring Pro 2 and can highly recommend it though you do need a ring subscription to store video. It's worth hanging on for the black Friday deals on Amazon though as they are usually reduced.

Not sure re home security though simplisafe seems to get v good reviews.

I have a Reolink one and it's excellent, no subscription, externally powered (POE), local storage and can be linked to an external CCTV recorder. (as it uses the open standard ONVIF, unlike most of the other brands)

(They also do a wi-fi version, but I haven't tried it)

The app is excellent, with pre-defined messages, or you can record your own, works great on wi-fi and 5G, just about useable on 4G.

We have a Eufy and it’s great. No subscription and excellent sound and image quality.

Thanks for all the replies - it is confusing as OH not really good at DIY so wanted something simple - minimal drilling and cables etc - just stick it to the wall and use the phone :)

Do you really need the doorbell functionality?

Because, if not, you are better off with a general security camera product

This. We looked at everything and went for two security cameras instead. Front and back. Eufy.

For example, the Eufy solar wall light camera is easy to install without wiring and also has the benefit of a solar panel meaning you don't need to take it down to charge the battery/ wire it in.

I much prefer it to our Eufy doorbell cam, which was much more expensive and needs taking down to charge as we haven't wired it in.

Eufy here-doorbell and cameras.

We had a Ring doorbell but you need a subscription for each item you have so that would have been expensive to run.

Eufy for us as well. Got rid of Ring as I was fed up of having to pay the monthly subscription.

Ring have changed their plans so we can have 5 devices on the one plan/payment. I cancelled mine and redid them as the one plan. Original plans were refunded immediately too.
