FB account recovery

OH was emailed by FB to change his password.

He now can't access his account and it seems to have completely disappeared. I can't see his profile or anything that he has tagged me in.

Absolutely going around in circles as he had 2 factor authentication turned on and the phone number is an old one so he can't access the verification codes.

All of the "help" pages just send him around in circles uploading ID etc

Any advice please?

what was the from address of the email that instructed your husband to change the PW?

Did he actually log on and change his password (or click on the link in the email) or did the lack of access happen before he tried to do this?

What was the actual chain of events? What was the url of any link he clicked?

It was definitely from a verified FB address and he went into FB to change his password.

He made a mistake when resetting his password which caused him to be locked out, and because the phone number on his account is one he no longer has access to, he can't retrieve the code for the second part of the two-step verification process.
