Squarespace / Wix help!

I created a Wix account years ago, with the aim of building a website. I bought the domain name which I now use as a professional email address through Google Workspace (contact @ myname.com) which costs me £5 a month. I never finished the website because honestly I didn’t love how it looked in the end.

I would like to try again but this time with Squarespace as I’ve seen some really good website examples and I’ve heard it’s a bit more user friendly (I am not tech savvy!)

So - I want to close my Wix account, and move my domain name over to Squarespace but absolutely no idea how to go about it. Can someone help?

You should just be able to sign up with squarespace then change your DNS servers to point to the squarespace ones as they will currently be pointing to the wix ones. Do you know whom your domain is registered with (godaddy, 123 etc.) as you will need to change the name servers there? It’s very easy to do.

Wix is dreadful. I’m not sure what squarespace is like as I use wordpress.

Oof… you make it sound very simple but I have no idea what a DNS server is 😂

How can I find out who I registered my domain with? It’s been years and I can’t remember. Tried searching various email inboxes but no luck so far.

I am bad at this.

Can you look at your bank to see who you are paying for your domain? Or you should have an annual renewal email.
