Im thinking of getting an Apple Watch - the SE version.

My workplace has now told everyone phones have to be in lockers during work time.

With kids in school and an elder vulnerable mother I thought I’d get one so I can still receive texts and calls.

Im useless with tech - my question is does it connect via Bluetooth for this feature?

or do I need to take out a separate contract? Do you pay extra for this?

It connects via Bluetooth but depending on how big your place of work is the signal may not stretch. If your workplace is big and you need to be able to take calls etc then you would need to pay for a data plan.

Don't rely on that. The locker itself is a metal box, and that will shorten the range of the Bluetooth signal.

Why the hell do work think they can demand that anyway. Are you working for GCHQ or MI6? None the less, if it IS a security reason, they're probably going to tell you to put the watch in the locker too.
