About 4 days ago our laptop internet access failed and two of our 3 landline extensions also on Virgin stopped working. Two tablets continued working. Virgin reset the router but no improvement. My dil works from here one day per week and her laptop was working. Virgin are offering no solution so what do we do now. Have tried turning things off, taking the laptop close to the router. I am confused that the laptop and two phones aren't working but tablets and dil laptop are. Grateful for any help..

Maybe start by using a working tablet or laptop and try logging on to the router using its IP address and see what the software says about connected devices.
If you don't know the IP address you could try 192.168.1.1 which is fairly common I think.

I have had similar happen this week and I thought it was dropping in and out. In fact what was happening was dependent on where I was in the house - nothing is connecting wirelessly to the router. The devices are working when in range of the 3 hard wired access points around the house. Virgin are telling me that the router is fine when it plainly isn't. They said they would test it by getting me to run a speed check on "Sam says" or some such- but I can't do that as I can't connect to it 😳

Thanks for the tip..I will try that. Virgin are being useless. Saying engineers are working in it when we phone but no change and no ongoing updates.

I don't suppose your neighbour has just got new/different internet? If so, maybe there's a conflict. I don't have virgin so don't know the setup but you may be able to switch it between 2.4 and 5Ghz Channel and see if that makes a difference.
