WhatsApp banned

Oh, very upset as I am very boring so have no idea why they banned me. Message said this number is not allowed to use WhatsApp. I have appealed etc but this has not happened to me before and I am just upset.

I cannot use a different number for WhatsApp as I travel a lot so need the same number. I guess, if they don't lift the ban, I will have to change my number that I have had for nearly 2 decades- everyone knows- and I really really like.

Any tips? Any help? Thank you

Have you tried deleting it and re-installing? I've never heard of Whatsapp banning anyone before.

I’ve not heard of anyone being banned. I’d check your phone settings, have you disallowed its privileges somehow?

Me neither. I was so shocked. It did happen shortly after I restarted my phone as my iPods failed to activate. Ok, let me delete and reinstall it as DH suggested. Problem is that I will lose all messages as I don't back them up- on purpose.

I didn't do anything. I just spoke to my sis abroad and my nephew shared family pics with his 1 year old daughter- that's all. Really frustrating.

It's why I like to keep 2 phones as I travel abroad a lot. Have ordered a new sim for the other phone-had lost it during travels- so I can give my family that new number as well.

Sadly, I gave in into deleting and reinstalling. Well, same message and have now lost all my messages. Never mind. I do keep notes of all important messages sent by WhatsApp to my tenants. Have just lost someone's message that I have been delayed in responding to- to make up, I will ring them instead.

Oh, that's a relief. I just don't want to lose my number. But I also think maybe after 20 years with the same mobile number, it would be good to change it. I am just confused as my username shows. At least I am no longer upset/disappointed as I first was.

I have my account back. It simply said: "This account has been restored. Our systems flagged your account accidentally. We apologise for this. Chats can be accessed after you verify your account."

I have managed to restore the chats. Just not from our group of tenants, but that was not the most relevant.

As you can see, at every turn, I checked if it was back. I have learnt my lesson and this has confirmed I am right to keep 2 phones when travelling. I even tracked alone in Africa for 4 weeks. Getting my new sim for my other phone delivered later today- the phone is old, so will just save and replace it.

Thank you all. As I said, as reality sank in, I started accepting I may have to change my phone number and notify all.

[Wrote this message at 03H49 when I got it back. Yes, every turn I made in teh night, I checked if I had a reply from them. Not a nice experience at all as I and my network are so reliant on WhatsApp to maintain 24/7 contact in case I am abroad travelling .]
