Tonie box controls

I have a tonie box for my baby. I was under the impression that you couldn't get the box to automatically replay a tonie without taking it off and putting it back on. However, it's now on and replaying at a reduced volume each time- which is perfect, that's what I want it to do. But how did I do it?? Can anyone enlighten me please!

I also thought the characters couldn't be turned into repeat. It would be a useful feature for us too, so following with interest.
