Kindle - which type

We’re going off for a long worldwide trip with two DC - which Kindle would be the right one to take? We need excellent battery power most importantly, but also whichever is the best Kindle for reading in bright light?

I’ve recently bought the Paperwhite specifically for reading in the garden and taking on holiday. It works a treat!
For stuff other than book reading I have the iPad which is useless in bright sunshine, as is the Kindle Fire.

To read in the sun you need a proper kindle e-reader rather than the Kindle tablet (Fire)

The paper white also lets you read in the dark.

You can pay for without ads if this bothers you too. Dd had the ads version - there is an ad in the Lock Screen and a small banner ad on the Home Screen. These are not visible when reading a book though, so not intrusive and doesn't effect the reading experience.

I have the Oasis which is waterproof and is a different shape - means it is very light and more ergonomically shaped for holding.
