Does anyone have a direct contact number for eBay please as I’m tearing my hair out here!!

Hi everyone, I wonder if anyone maybe able to help me please? I’ve been trying for two days to access my eBay account, and because I have been changing my password too frequently, ( I keep forgetting it!,), it has locked me out. I have had two conversations via chat with eBay, and that hasn’t helped at all!

i’m a bit stressed because I’m trying to complete a purchase with a seller, and I am struggling to contact them. I admit I’m not very technical at all, and I know that I’ve had help on this board before, which was very gratefully received!

So what happens when you try to log in?

By different browser she means have you tried on Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Safari etc. Clear your cookies and check your email inbox and spam for anything to reset the password. Although that chat is really unhelpful and pretty poor customer service, a lot of customer service reps are told that they aren't there to be technical support for customers.

I don't think you'll be able to speak to anyone at eBay I'm afraid - have never known this to happen.

As a pp said, you need to try on a different device or on a different internet browser - is there someone that can help you with this?

Someone once called me from eBay after I logged a problem but I think it's rare

As you’re on iPad/iPhone I’m presuming you’re using the safari app/browser to access eBay.

have you tried downloading Chrome and using that? Or using the eBay app?

I'm afraid I've got no help to offer but I'm having the same problem with Etsy. They have deleted my account because I tried changing passwords. I've been trying to contact but need my password to chat to anyone. It's a nightmare! I hope you get it sorted soon OP

Wow everyone, thank you for all your help! I have managed to delete all my cookies, and all my junk mail.

All my passwords have now gone, so I had to make a new one to log back into mumsnet 😂😂😂. I usually do have my passwords written down, so I haven’t lost them all ☺️

Yes I’m using Safari, and yes it is ridiculous that you need your password to sign into the site, but need help because you aren’t able to sign in because you have forgotten your password 🤷🏻‍♀️

I do have the eBay app on my iPhone, but it still won’t let me in there either, as it is blocking me as I don’t have the password.

I will have a go at downloading chrome - honestly, it’s incredible how much time this takes!

Okay so you've just forgotton your password? That's the only issue? So you just need to reset, in that case. A new browser won't help. What happens if you follow the instructions here? www.ebay.co.uk/help/account/changing-account-settings/changing-password?id=4197

Hi there, I am nearly in tears now after spending most of the day trying to sort this ☹️, so thank you for trying to help.

I have downloaded Chrome and I cannot access my eBay account through that as it just comes up with enter email or username and then enter password. I tried the link above, and again it asked me to enter email, and password. I have tried to access it through my Google account, but again it will only let me link to eBay if I know the eBay password. I have tried to link it to my Apple account, but I have my old email address on there, as I wasn’t sure how to change it to my new one, so that doesn’t work either.

I am racking my brains on how to pay the seller, and even contact them properly. I do not feel that I can ask the sellers to let me have their bank details, as I feel that will make me sound like a scammer.

The only option I can think of is asking the courier if he will pay out £322 on Saturday to pick up my items, and then I can reimburse him at this end. I am really at my wits end with this!
